The Monrovia High School Jazz Ensemble is a community favorite, performing a wide range of repertoire, from big band swing, to latin dance, and funk rock. Consisting of a classic big band instrumentation (5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, piano, guitar, bass, drums and percussion), the Jazz Ensemble works on mastering repertoire from the cannon of classic and contemporary jazz while developing advanced musicianship skills such as improvisation.
